A citizen was accused of misusing a phone and publicly insulting and defaming Palestinian women through his account on the Snapchat platform.
The complainant, lawyer Abdullah Al-Kandari, stated that the defendant published a video on his Snapchat account containing offensive remarks against the honor of the women of Gaza, along with allegations and accusations that undermined their dignity and reputation.
Al-Kandari pointed out that the defendant accused the women of Gaza of trading in morality and blaspheming due to their poor conditions caused by Hamas’ resistance to the Zionist entity. He added that these actions constitute slander against virtuous women and contradict Kuwait’s stance on the Palestinian cause, harming its relations with Arab and friendly nations.
He further argued that the defendant’s actions violate Law No. 37 of 2014 regarding the establishment of the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority, Articles 209 and 210 of the Penal Code, and Article 21 of Law No. 31 of 2006 on Printing and Publishing.
